God spoke through and to many in the Old Testament.  He walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the garden, He spoke from a burning bush to Moses, then God sent Moses to deliver a message to Pharoah, signed from God! Later He thundered out from Mt. Sinai, and Moses came down with God’s word on tablets of stone.  His Prophets bellowed, “Thus says the Lord” in the gates and streets of the cities. God listened to Job and his three friends till the right time to come in, then He spoke.  God sent word through Jeremiah, Isaiah, Joel and Jonah too!  Till God took a break and for 400 years He was through!

“Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.  And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.” Heb 1:1-2 NLT

One of the disciples said Jesus, show us the father, Jesus said look at me!. Peter got on top of the mount and wanted to gab too much and God spoke, this is my beloved son in whom I’m well pleased, HEAR HIM! Jesus is God’s last Sermon to mankind.  He’s God’s perfect homily to you and me.

Jesus is God’s perfect articulation, not one mistake or wrong pronunciation.  No stutter or slip of speech, His life was the perfect speech.  Jesus was God’s message of love, humility, meekness and reconciliation to a stiff neck and wayward generation.  God’s message in Christ was forgiveness and sin no more to a woman caught in adultery.  To the woman at the well, it was about real worship and living water! To the Rich young ruler, it was sell what you got, don’t let Mammon rule you.  To the confounded disciples, it was with God all things are possible.  To the pharisee’s it was a message of stern, strict, real and revealing report of their sad spiritual condition.  To the sick it was “do you want to be healed” to the lost it was “I am the way the truth and the life”, to the dead, stench ridden Lazarus it was,”come forth”! To Martha his sister, it was “I am the resurrection and the Life, he who believes in me though he may die he shall live” and to all of us, come to me those who are tired, and I will give you rest. His death and resurrection, spelled out forgiveness, paid for sin, and pronounced condemnation to sin in the flesh. His message was clear if you believe in God believe also in Me.

Jesus Christ God’s last sermon, message, to this world, Jesus is the message that needs to be heralded.  That’s 33.5 years of preaching, 33.5 years of teaching, 33.5 years of getting across a point! He is the exact image of the invisible God, His final and complete utterance to this lost world, Hear Him!
