Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love (Eph 1:3-4)

Have you ever questioned God’s intent for you?  Have you ever wondered about His plans for you?  Well, if you have, you’re human! We all have had those questions in one shape or form, change the words, but it’s still the same question underneath; which is really to say, we are not certain of the heart of God.  No matter where you are at, what’s going to follow is going to reveal the heart of your Heavenly Father to you in a way, that’s going to be a pre-rapture as you get caught up in the realization of our Fathers thoughts, plans and intent for us!

We are a chosen people.  How much different would our relationship with Him be if we realized that we are chosen?  If we’d stop thinking we chose Him, and chased Him down as if He was a dead beat dad trying to leave us.  I know you’re thinking we make the decision to follow Jesus, and we believe that He’s our Lord and Savior and we’re saved.  Well, Eph 2:8, says we were saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves!”  Just as He chose the cross, just as He chose the nails, He chose you!

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light 1 Pet 2:9

You and I have been chosen, picked out, shall I say, “called by name”, what we realize when we look at scriptures is that our moment of “choosing Him”, is only our response to Him, He initiated the relationship.

For those that have been abandoned by a parent you know the thoughts and feelings that come when you’re not chosen, when you are pushed aside!  This is our Heavenly Father, He has chosen you, called you by name, yes He hand-picked you out of all! For those who know the thoughts and feelings of being cherished by earthly parents, this supersedes that to the tenth degree.  Furthermore, His choosing us, was not as a backup plan, not as a last-ditch effort, He did it as part of His initial plan.  When God thought about creating Earth, He knew about you and had already chosen you!

We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Jesus.  The words used here in the Greek for blessed are actually three different Greek words, but the two pertaining to us is my focus.

“…who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” Eph 1:3

The first in the Greek is eulogeo, it means to speak well of, that is, (religiously) to bless (thank or invoke a benediction upon, prosper).  The second is eulogia, which means speaking, that is, elegance of language; commendation (“eulogy”), that is, (reverentially) adoration; religiously, benediction; by implication consecration.

Imagine, just like a baby at a dedication is blessed, and fine words are spoken over him, God as our Heavenly Father did the same for each of us! Our Heavenly Father spoke fine, beautiful, powerful words of blessing over each of us in Jesus.  There is not one of His children that didn’t receive this blessing; this is not a spiritual gift, they vary, this is a blessing its for all! Fine words spoken over us to permeate our being, so that in any situation you find yourself in, you are blessed!  That’s not an empty platitude, it’s the truth.

You want to know what God thinks about you? Look at that verse and realize that God spoke reverentially of you, He spoke the best for you and about you.  Your heavenly Father spoke every one of heaven’s spiritual blessings into your life.  You don’t have to work to get this blessing, it’s not about experience either, it’s about being chosen and being His child.

No matter what people say or do, our final destination is to stand before Him, holy and without blame in love. We quote Jeremiah 29:11 a lot, but at its best that is a promise for us here, in a world that will still be filled with the “thorns and thistles” of life, where thieves break in and steal and where moths and rust destroy.  This plan is for eternity, for a place where neither thieves will break in, nor will moths and rust destroy.  This is for our eternal standing before our Father, in our eternal home. To stand before Him, where before no man could stand in His presence.  To be holy when before our righteousness were as filthy rags, to be blameless, when it was our sin that sent Jesus to the cross.

This is the heart of our Heavenly Father towards all of His children in Jesus Christ! Receive this, know this, believe this, it isn’t too good to be true!
